Hi all,
I'm in a bind and am beginning to think I'm going about something all wrong.
I have a bunch of product photography that I am batching out. The source files are jpg and I'm saving out as gifs. My action runs smoothly and does everything I need it to until I hit the export part...it's as if PShop doesn't know what to do. It doesn't follow the batch options I set for it (destination/filename info) and it keeps trying to save the image over and over as the filename used in the sample I created the action with.
Anyone had any experience/luck with this dilemma?
Thanks!!

Try checking "Override action 'Save As...' commands".

Check and see if you have ''Override Action "Save As" Commands' checked. If it's not, the batch will use the original settings from the save as step in the action.

Thanks for the replies. I should've mentioned that when the Override is checked, it doesn't save files at all. Seems like it's a bug as I'm doing everything I've done in the past.

Do you have a "Save for Web" command in your action? You'll need that to make that checkbox work correctly.

I've just now been able to get it to save the files out to the destination directory, but it's not appending the suffix to it that I asked it to in the file naming area of the batch window.
I can live with that since I can just batch the filenames, but It's frustrating that it seems as if I'm only able to get these semi-satisfactory results in an erroneous manner.

Yes, I've exported the sample file as "save for web" and selected the appropriate gif settings. These were recorded, it just seems that Photoshop has no idea what filename to give the output.

As it stands right now, everything looks correct to me. So, just for clarification, what you are missing now is just the suffix at the end, everything else seems to be working?

Yep, before my latest attempt (which is no different than previous ones) the files wouldn't even output. But now I can have them save with the same filename and the new .gif extension but the "_l" specified in the batch menu doesn't carry through. I'll just chalk this one up to a bug and do a batch rename I guess.
Thanks again for the replies.

Are you sure that those are not illegal characters in Mac0s9?
