hi i'm new here...
this may sound hokey but i use actions and history a lot and would sure like to be able to drag/drop from history directly into actions... it would of course be helpful to have parameters viewable in history, too, as in actions
and does anyone besides me wish the brushes palette previewed in color?
forgive me if these ideas have already been mentioned
i'd like to volley but some threads look like they haven't been touched for a while--not sure how to start

Welcome Joan.
You got a couple of excellent ideas there.
i just thought I'd mention that brushes do not contain color information.... Okay, okay the v7 brush presets may contain color info, but other than the presets brushes only contain transparency information. How would color previews be beneficial?
As for the volley.. jump in, start a new thread and serve.... someone will pick it up.

Hello and welcome Joan,
Nice Ideas, I'll go wit them.
BTW, No matter how old the thread is always feel free to jump in and add something. With new people coming on board all the time, it's good to know the older threads are still being read and revived.

your idea is shared by a lot of persons, but looking at this thread (http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?128@102.llBMabetEru^155248@.ef85cea) from the adobe user to user forum, will explain you that the problem is that history doen't record the actions, but rather the changes in the pixels of the images :(
I think that the Egypt game (#6) is still open!
But if you've got a (simple (|) ) good idea for a new game, please share (I said this because I'm "guilty" for game 7 ~$ )
Have fun in there, and don't forget to teach us too!

I toggle between Photoshop and Imageready a lot... in Imageready you're able to drag/drop from history to actions and also from history/actions to droplets... you can't do this with certain actions that actually change pixels (e.g., paintbrush, eraser, others that appear in italics); however I was playing around today and noticed that the pixel-altering paintbucket works for some reason... not that anyone would ever use it :)
While teetering on this soapbox, Imageready also has variables that allow the user to define different parameters (values, data sets) within a single image... way cool in my (not so) humble opinion!
This stuff would sure improve my workflow in tons of areas.
(ps to anyone who's listening--dockable palettes in all Adobe products!)
Yours in the blatant overuse of lens flare,
Scott W.
