Hello folks.

i have a project here at work that consists of importing a few thousand slides to eventually be put on DVD. The import process creats a .bmp file of the slide. Now what i am wondering is this, the entire set of thousands of bmp files will need a quick run through the auto level and auto color to balance the entire lot. is there a way to automate this process with photoshop 7.

i'll keep digging around for an answer myself but I am having little luck as of yet. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes! You'll need to use an action. Look on Photoshop's help files on the topic, in addition to the answers that will be given here.
You'll need to create a new set, and a new action in that set. open one image, run the operations that you want to apply on the images, save the image. Stop the action Now, you need go to file>Automate>batch, and select your action, the origin folder, maybe a destination folder, and use the switch accordingly (usually, the override...)

Make a few tests, try the settings, etc... then come back with specific answers, it is the best way to learn!
