Pierre (Sir sPECtre) and I had a long discussion about electronic music here: click me (http://www.photoshoptechniques.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3661)

Meg Lee Chin is fantastic... godpeed is interesting live, can't go wrong with Portishead. I just started listening to The Faint who've made some fantastic albums.

Underworld's dubnobasswithmyheadman is one of the greatest albums ever IMO. I really shouldn't start talking about music because I'll never shut the hell up. :*

have you guys heard beth gibbons' (the singer from portishead) solo record?? it's fantastic . . . very jazz inspired & nicely experimental . . . i went & saw her live a few weeks ago & it was incredible. one of the guys from portishead was playing with the band . . . all i can say is check it out, very different from portishead, but too good to pass up!!!

You liked dredg live? I hated them. But... that could be because they kept stopping in the middle of their songs for no apparent reason. ANd bitching and moaning because no one was 'getting into it'. We could have got into it if they would have played a whole song through. Anyhow, dredg on CD is excellent, dredg live... meh.

Ok so my favorite concert list... One thing before I start. Simply because I liked a band live doesn't mean I like them. Same goes for bands I like on CD... like dredg. That being said.

The #1 spot goes to LUXT. Anytime I get a chance to see these guys I do. Their music is pretty spiffy and they put on great shows. They played their hearts out to a room with about 15 people once. Good stuff that.

#2 would have to be Papa Roach when they played 3 Oaks just before realeaseing Love Hate Tragedy. That was an incredible show. But being only one show rather than many, it takes second.

#3 is Shortie. I've been to 2 shows with these guys, and they were both excellent. I got my first taste of crowd surfing at a SHortie show.

#4 is a mix of bands. Key to Arson, West at Seven, Growth of Alliance, and hmm... no I think thats it.

austizmo: sorry to hear you had a bad experience with dredg . . . i've seen 'em 6 times, often in half-empty clubs with no one who knew who they were & they still just played great . . . strange, but i suggest you give them another shot, you won't be dissapointed . . .

wfd: would love to see blue man group live . . . how was it? i laughed my arse off all the way through the d . . . did they have the set-break movies when you saw them? (butt baby being my fave)

Gorillaz
Tenacious D (Take out the broadsword, SLICEY SLICE)
The Strokes
White Stripes

And that Eiffel 65 Song "I'm Blue"

(I originally thought it was BMG and I've been addicted ever since...just that one song... )

And an uninstigated (|) (|) (|)

Oops didn't see that last question which wasn't even directed towards me but I'll jump in nonetheless...

I saw BMG live (Pipes was on Off-Broadway)

We didn't have the set break, but in the end, we had a toilet paper party thing...the lights flashed and rolls of toilet paper were emptied and the WHOLE ROOM FILLED UP...the bottom floor was literally up to their necks...

Oh I could go on about that show...most fun I've ever had... :6

icono: input appreciated! tenacious d . . . heard they're making a movie about how they got together, that should be entertaining to say the least . . .

<j:s> Yeah, the D showed one of the set-break movies at one of the shows. It was about Kyle leaving the band to become a man-whore. Awesome stuff. About their movie (and most of this is just hearsay) I've heard the DVD will have all of the set-break movies on it, and it will possibly be directed by Ben Stiller.

Ozma... no can't say that I have. Where are they based out of? A Vacaville band you guys might want to check out is West at Seven.

I checked out Ozomalti today. I like some of the jazzier elements of their music. But overall, I'm not really into it much. I guess im not a fan of salsa(?).

I couldn't find Ozma's web page... so no take on them.

try www.ozmaonline.com (http://www.ozmaonline.com). I think they've got some samples on their site. Their new album is a little different than their old stuff - sounds more produced, I guess would be the best way to describe it. Their two older albums (Rock & Roll Pt. 3, and the Doubble Donkey Disc) are some of the best geek rock I've heard. In my opinion, they blow Weezer right outta the water.

See if you can find a song called Korobeiniki, it's a pop-punk cover of one of the songs from Tetris.
