(was re-directed here from another forum.)

Anyone quickly tell me how to Overlay an image on another image (as another layer, for example), that can be used with Actions ? I've just got Load image > resize > recolor > overlay image > save as... action now, but no idea how to Overlay the logo on top of the loaded image.

Here's what I got after playing with it for a while:

the problem with this is that due to the copy-paste action, the watermark logo is centered, which is not how it should be. i suppose i could put a black 1px dot in each corner, but it's annoying this isn't working off the bat properly...

Thanks for any assistance.

Modify your action as follows: After the "Select previous document" step in your action, use the Rectangular selection tool to record the creation of a selection that defines where you want to place the logo. If necessary, intersect horizontal and vertical guides at the center point of logo placement. When the Paste command is executed, the logo will be centered inside the selection.

Note: The selection can be smaller or larger than the pasted logo. It does not have to be the exact size.

HTH...

seem to have worked around the issue by placing 1px of 1% opaque white in each corner of the overlaying image.

tried your suggestion first danny, but my overlay doesn't have a defined center so it was a little hard, but easily worked around with this.

Thanks for all your help.

I should have mentioned I was assuming your sig image was cropped to only include the sig. That way the sig can be placed in the manner I suggested on a target image of any size and in any position.

In any event, glad you found another workaround. There are often many suitable solutions to a given problem. I salute your creativity and persistence.
