Hey all! I know it's been ages since I've posted here— I've been busy with school. This morning I decided to set out and teach myself a little bit about Photoshop scripting. I created a script for making images like this:

I would love to get as many people to try it out as possible, to beta test and give me feedback. So far I've only tested it on Mac OS 10.3, running Photoshop CS— I have no idea if it would work on any other version of photoshop, and I don't know if I have left any oversights that would prevent it from running on another platform.

Thanks in advance!

AFAIK, the only cross-platforms scripts are the javascript ones.

Do you think that something might prevent your script to work on PS7 with the scripting plug-in?

Well, it is in javascript… I have no reason to believe that it wouldn't work on another system, but as I had never even touched Photoshop scripting before this morning, I thought that it was a reasonable possibility. I know that Photoshop CS supports more code than Photoshop 7 with the scripting plug-in did… but I'm pretty sure I didn't use any of that code.

The only way to find out is to test it and see how it works on other platforms.

Not to beg, but I would really appreciate some feedback on my script… please download it and try it out really quick… I'm eager to expand my knowledge of cross-platform scripting, and all the computers in the house with photoshop are running the same OS… not a huge variety for testing purposes.

Thanks very much (and I apologize for begging)

I'll try it tomorrow on XP on PS7!

Hey wagouweb, just gave it a try, on an XP machine running CS and it ran through perfectly. I did have to load the action through the Action Pallette, before running the script, but I suppose that is to be expected.

Good stuff, and a real groovy effect. I ran the action one additional time for a little more depth.}$

Works fine on a Mac with OS10.3.4. Not certain how useful the effect is though.

Ya, I don't know if the effect itself going to win any awards. :& Unless it's to the "sig" types.%)

But if the intent of the exercise, was to test the script's integrity, it's happening.
